Access is part of the plan

Remote walks and wild-place weekends are only useful when the access position is checked. Open access land can allow walking and climbing while still restricting camping, cycling, dogs, closures or other activities.

What to record

Capture the route date, access source, seasonal restrictions, dog rules, fire risk, parking, escape options and whether camping is explicitly allowed rather than assumed.

Publishing rule

Adventure guides should include checked dates and avoid encouraging camping where the source only supports walking access.
