Start with the load list
Before comparing portable power stations, list what has to run: lights, phones, a small fridge, a pump, laptop charging or camera batteries. The load list decides battery size more reliably than marketing claims.
Check charging reality
Solar input ratings often assume good conditions. A weekend setup needs a plan for poor weather, vehicle charging or reduced usage.
Risk note
Electrical work around fixed systems, vehicle installs or high loads needs competent review. A portable unit is simpler, but it still needs sensible cable, ventilation and charging practice.
